Hi y'all ,
I'm new to the zx14 fold since departing from the snobby italian brands, funny thing about them ducatis /aprilias, dont use em for a while and something happens: either wont start/dead battery/ would get too freakin hot in summer /as for the aprilia - heck i loved that italian "bella" but they had lousy rectifiers so i replaced mine with a hi power aftermarket unit from a honda...geez . i traded the '07 duc to an '03 aprilia then traded that for an 08 NIB kawi limited edition within 2 years . Woo hoo.!! best move i ever made. !! ducatis are good if theyre well maintained but theyre a mother keep, best used as a conversation piece in your living room bec i'd rather just stare at it than ride it , besides my back hurts now from that position where you butt is higher than your head and your elbows braces your kneecap sorta thing.
anyways my bro used to let me ride his '93 zzr12 and it scared the hellaouttame , its heavy , obscenely powerful but drinks gas . i tipped over one time in an intersectioon that was downhill, and off camber position, the bike was too high for me then and i dented the cans OMG. Bro was furious . Good thing a neighborly cop ran to my help and lifted the seat up and told me where to have it fixed, all the while i thought he was rushing to gimme a ticket but thank god he was cool as ice ..
As for the zx14 ( it was a love or hate for most people for its looks ) but for me it looks like a land shark!
i started with Dual Yoshi slips on and im getting the halo angel eyes for my ride..
A couple a Busa's have been trying to bait me into gauging our rides on a street run but im not into that who-is-faster-devil-may-care type of ride , i'm more for the relaxed pace and joyride. They wanna race me? lets do it on the track i say..
no sense proving it on the street and getting hurt ..or worse.
Anyways im glad i found this site and i've emailed the link my bro overseas so he can learn a lot of tips from the pros and generally from y'all nice folks here.
